impingement syndrome. For near term relief I was given an injection into the area which has only helped a bit.

There’s a possibility I have a damaged rotator cuff and that will only be revealed by an ultrasound which needs to be taken in Port Elisabeth. Fortunately we were able to negotiate schedules and get a morning slot about 2 hours before the families plane lands at the nearby airport. If it turns out the rotator cuff is damaged I’ll need an operation to fix it. The guy here is keen to do it asap if it’s necessary. The 6 weeks in a sling after the op to convalesce is not going to be good wherever it happens but the choice would be here or in the UK. The decision will be made when it needs to be.

So this segues nicely into tomorrow when, as mentioned before, Ben, Amy (Ben’s girlfriend), John and Bao all arrive on the same internal flight. They won’t be here for long but we have a few things planned. The excitement builds. My sister has her 50th birthday this weekend which should be a lot of fun. This will provide a good excuse for posting a few pics soon.

Most days I manage to go out and play Ingress. It’s got to the point where it’s becoming my exercise. I park the car and take walks around town. I’ve met my two ‘opponents’ in town including meeting for a beer yesterday. We’ve already set a new, more social, date in a couple of weeks for a meal to which Helen can come. Less geeky talk for that one. I’m trying to encourage both of them to get into Project Euler as they both seem up for it.

The remaining two of my three upcoming announcements remain upcoming but are both hopefully closing in. After the excitement of my hair regrowing perhaps this pause is needed for all.

I’ve set a reminder to write a blog every three days because my old habit of writing one once a day just isn’t going to work for the foreseeable future.
