Dignity’s first charter begins today. Things are getting exciting in a remote sort of way. First off, I now have some photos of Dignity which I’ve posted in the gallery. These were taken only today so they’re hot off the press. I was also doing a little surfing today for marine audio equipment. Reason being is that I really liked certain aspects of the audio set up on Gato Chateau. In particular, I liked the way they had independent control of speakers in the cabin, the cockpit and on deck (speakers on the mast spreaders). The controls were a bit out of the way but the concept was great. After a little rummaging I came across the equipment manufactured by Poly-Planar. In particular, I like the look of the MRD-70 system and it’s ability to expand to multiple zones. I can dream. Dignity charters are beginning to stack up. Lot of equity tucked away in her doing nothing till now so it’s good to get this going. Looks like she should be ready for a 12 day charter in August (lucky buggers). Also lined up a charter in October for someone who contacted me through this site. I am passing on the owners discount to anyone who contacts me this way. A little help perhaps but it pays for a dinner or two around the islands. More bookings already in later in the year and early next. If you’re chartering Dignity in the future and reading this – please look after our baby. I think I made a mistake on Saturday. Looking again, I reckon the boat with the blue circle was not a 420. The one just above it in the picture looks more like one. Looking today, the one above has left the marina. As Knot on Call is scheduled out this week, I reckon that was it. Therefore, I still think Dignity was the boat identified earlier but for new reasons. Today I have been playing around with Google Picasa picture gallery. Some great features. As of now I am uploading the majority of our pictures. You can see a mini slide show and link to the main gallery from my Gato Chateau log. I’ve had to break it down into three separate weeks due to a limitation of 500 pics per album. If they’re not all there, try again later. Dignity arrived in Nanny Cay yesterday. Over the weekend the delivery crew will be cleaning her up following the Atlantic passage and handing her over to CatCo. CatoCo will then inspect her for any issues as well as receive a report from the captain. Any issues will be dealt with through the manufacturer. At that point the warranty begins. Now begins the long wait until February which represents our next chance to see her. The urge to squeeze in a visit before then is tremendous. Neither of us have much time left this year so a visit would be short and wouldn’t buy us much. Better we go in February when we can spend a whole week checking her out. Now look at the follow pic from Nanny Cay’s webcam this morning. CatCo have two 420s in their fleet at this point, Dignity and Knot on Call. I have circled two 420s on this picture in the CatCo area of the marina. I know Dignity has not had her lazy stack fitted so that rules out the 420 circled in blue. That means the one circled in green could well be Dignity. Cool. |
