Wilderness First Responder Training

I have now learned of the dates that my older son will be studying BioChem over the summer. It doesn’t leave us many windows for all of us to go and have our WFR training. I can only find two courses in the second half of August and the one I am most interested in is at the Flagstaff Field Institute in Arizona. So I’ve reached out to them to see if they have a group rate. The location is great and offers us the opportunity to do some sightseeing in the area. Meteor Crater is nearby and the Grand Canyon is not so far off. Could make an interesting trip.

Charter Guest Comments

One thing that’s great about chartering your vessel is that guests are often very happy to provide feedback, positive and negative.  I continue to receive copies of the standard guest feedback from CatCo and they continue to be good.  Some guests also provide separate quite detailed feedback to me via email.  We are of course delighted when they do this.  I have updated our feedback page with an extra comment recently received.

At time of writing we are now down to 20 days to our trip.

BVI Weather Links

Thanks to Craig at CatCo for sending me some useful links to weather resources.  I have included a couple on my links page.  I particularly like the WindGuru site that gives predictions of wind strength/direction.  This will come in handy for passage planning.
