After a brief provisioning we left Bequia this morning for St Vincent just under 9nm away. I didn’t mention I had bought a new lure a couple of days ago but we did and we had it out. Just before arriving at St Vincent we caught a big one (for us) about 30+ inches long. Not quite sure what it was but it was no baracuda – perhaps a big tuna. We furled the head sail to slow the boat and I hauled the beastie in. Half way in it shot towards the boat, leaped out of the water and bolt back the way it came snapping the 200lb line. Bugger.
So we’re now in St Vincent where we’re going to base ourselves for the next few days to explore the island.
