The Smell of Fresh Bread

A realtor of ours who once spent a year cruising the Caribbean has extolled the value of a breadmaker aboard on several occasions. He says there is nothing like waking up to the smell of fresh bread baking. There are many who may think this is an extravagance aboard a boat but anyway, last weekend we decided to get one to see what it’s like. I made a loaf last Sunday evening which went down well although was a little stodgy as I think I skimmed on the yeast. Last night I set it up so we could wake up to fresh bread. Problem is, I woke early this morning and have had to wait while the smell of cooking bread drives me mad with hunger. So all I have to do is close my eyes and imagine we’re on the boat. And of course wait. Mmmmmmm.

Well – the bread was good. A little more yeast this time and it was 50% bigger than the last one.
