We’re now officialy homeless. We thought we had left ourselves little to do but we were busy from 6am when we woke up until 10:30am when the new owners arrived for their walkthough. We briefly met them – they’re a nice couple and they had parents with them. It was a bit emotional leaving our home for eight and a half years. We’ve been so busy recently we hadn’t the time to absorb it.
Sam was in a hurry as he was due to meet friends at 11 so we all headed off to MacDonalds in three different cars for a quick breakfast. This bit didn’t go quite to plan as we failed to agree which one to go to so Sam and I ended up at one and Helen at another. Helen decided to go on to our friends house as there was no point trying to rendezvous. I had a very quick breakfast with Sam and headed off there too. Helen and I arrived within a minute of eachother.
After another hour of taking stuff down into Anne and John’s basement we were done. That was it. We were out of our home. Except for the legal bit. That happened a little later without us having to be there. We heard that the new owners raced off from the closing to jump into the pool. It’s nice to hear of their excitement – we wish them well.
In the evening I went mountain biking with John. I won’t say too much about this except I found the downhill bits extremely more delightful than the uphill bits and I am sore in quite a few places this morning.
Curry, wine and DVD finished of the evening.
I don’t think our new situation has sunk in yet. Hopefully we’ll figure out soon what we’ve done and regain the excitement for our future. I have 12 more days left at work and then it’s on to Arizona. In the meantime we’re trying to close on our investment property nearby which should stop us from getting bored with things.
