Day 5 – Off to Anegada

Just getting ready for our trip over to Anegada. We have forecasted winds of 14 to 19 knots so I know Gato Chateau will fly. The family are gradually waking up. Ben says he feels a little better. Let’s hope he is now past the worst. Sam appeared from his room covered in sand having apparently had a good time last night. He stayed on at the dance / live music and danced with a couple of girls for half an hour. Then he found some guys with lots of beer so he socialized with them until midnight. Not sure where the sand came into it all but he seems to have made some friends. At least one of them is off to Anegada too this morning so Sam’s looking forward to hooking up later.

Day 5 – Anegada

Woke up in the morning covered in sand, don’t know how that happened. Also had a nice cut on my toe, don’t know how that happened either. So onwards on our trip to Anegada for a few nights. We got there and walked around, but for the most part pretty much did nothing. It was a relaxed day that day. Ate curry that night *another sensual moan*.

Day 4 – Geocaching, Saba Rock

Before dinner Leah, Helen, Sam and I went off to hunt down the geocache which we failed to find the previous evening. We took a different route and eventually found it. It was well placed as the location offered a fantastic view. We took a different path back and very soon came to a spot where Sam, the previous evening, had pointed out what he thought was a path. So it turns out we were pretty close the previous evening after all. We wouldn’t have gone down the path in the dark so it definitely would have taken a second trip. Dinner at Saba Rock was great – and what a setting. We didn’t take a camera so no pics. We also forgot to bring a torch so dinghying back was a little tricky. We’ll remember next time. In the evening we enjoyed live music at the Bitter End Yacht Club bar. Ben was unable to come as his poison ivy rash was really erupting. I think Leah missed him as it was a very romantic spot.

Day 4 – Diving

This morning John, Sam and I went diving. Ben really wanted to come but he’s now laid up with a combination of Poison Ivy reaction (pussy boils), a nasty reaction to sun cream and a blocked nose. He decided to take a days rest to try and recover. The two dives were great. This was John’s first warm water experience having just obtained his PADI license in a cold lake in England. We’ve decided to stay another night moored up at the Bitter End to give Ben a rest. Rest of the day is going to be lazing about. We’ve reserved dinner on Saba Rock this evening.

Day 4 – Wicked Day

In the morning, Dad, John and I went scuba diving. That was good fun, wish we could’ve seen more though. It was kinda just the usual fish and coral, but I’m not complaining. It was a gas. So we pretty much chilled the rest of the day. Found a geocache, got a bunch of spikes in my foot thanks to that but it was cool. The best part, however, was what was in store that night. After we had a huge feast (which always makes me happy) we went to this live music thingy and danced. The rest of my group left but I wanted to stay more, so I did. I danced with a couple girls which was fun, then later got some beer from this kid and befriended him. We then went to the bar where we started talking to people and stuff until the whole bar was acquainted. Then this guy comes with a guitar (I’ve been rather upset from music withdrawal btw) so I was happy. Drank beers, played guitar, sang songs, made a good bunch of cool friends, then it went fuzzy. Good day, good day.
