How to pass on vast amounts of stuff ….

We have so many smaller things to divest.  We have decided to give most away and we’ll be giving to the Vietnam Veteran’s Association.  Garage sales are the obvious choice but from what we understand everything goes for very little or nothing at all to folks who may not be that needed.  By giving not only do the needy benefit but we (the far less needy) also benefit by being able to offset this as a gift tax.  For selfish and non-selfish reasons the VVA seems the best option.
