A Full Day

The morning was split in different directions. Helen stayed aboard while the rest of us went ashore. Holly’s plan was simply to hang out at the resort. Ben started his dive certification instruction. Brian, Janine and I went off for a couple of dives. While waiting to go I managed to snag a huge toasted bacon and egg sandwich from the cook which really filled me up.

On the first dive Brian had problems with his mask and ended up scratching the dive. Janine and I accompanied the dive master on a dive called ‘Shark Wall’. Janine was really hoping not to see any sharks but we did spot two and in the end Janine now seems to be looking forward to seeing more of them. The second dive was more successful for Brian.

Back at the resort we decided to eat lunch ashore as it was the build your own burgers we’d missed the night before. Accompanied by sausages. And cold meats. And salad. And fruit. I certainly felt pretty loaded after that.

The afternoon was spent relaxing and sleeping off lunch. Helen cooked curry for dinner which filled any remaining space left in our bowels. A Very Full Day.

We’ve made the decision to stay here for the rest of our guests stay. In fact, Helen and I may hang around for some time after. We’re planning to leave Fiji in 3-4 weeks time. There’s not enough time, not inclination, to head back out to the islands and we want to hang around the SW corner for our crew to arrive later in the month. So it’s a question of where to wait. Here seems pretty laid back so here we’ll be for a while. The place is very cruiser friendly. When the day crowds are out of the way we have the place to share with the few overnighters. It’s all quite relaxed.

Today the four adults are planning a trip to the town of Sigatoka for souvenir shopping and some provisioning. Ben will continue his instruction. Holly is delighted to have a chance to hang out again on the beach. And we’ll start the day with a cooked breakfast ashore.
